Eros is the creation of Aurelien Guichard. It was announced as a fresh, woody and slightly oriental scent. It was launched in 2012.
This Aromatic Fougere has top notes of lemon, green apple, and mint. Mid notes of ambroxan, geranium, and tonka beans. Base notes consist of Atlas and Virginian cedar, oakmoss, vetiver, and Madagascar vanilla.
I have really wanted to try this scent out mainly because there are so many people who consider it similar to English Laundry’s Oxford Bleu (see my review of that here). To be honest I find that highly misleading. Only the top notes are any way similar to each other, so to I wish they would stop comparing them at all.
The beginning is a solid punch of mint and lemon, fantastic stuff! I wish they could just bottle that and I would be so happy. I didn’t get the green apple at all but maybe I will after a few more days of wearing. Oxford Bleu was much the same way for me as well. Took me awhile to get the apple notes.
Immediately afterwards you get a slight powdery effect making its presence known which only gets stronger and from there on never goes away at all. Combine this with the vanilla/tonka bean notes that come barging in right then and there like the Kool-Aid Man and you have literally half of the scents playing around in your mind right now yeah?
The next big player to appear is the geranium notes, rosy and sweet, lapping in lushes waves mingling with the strong vanilla honestly makes me feel like baking some cookies. For real, it is like the dough is in my hands, by God it does smell good.
The base scents are pretty much drowned out by the vanilla/tonka double team. So if you enjoy a nice vanilla scent and are secure enough with your manhood, well, this scent is for you. Women do love it and I like it as well. Not something I will wear often but it is definitely on the shelf to be used again when the whim is there.
Projection is pretty good. After spraying someone could smell it 5-6 feet away, and that was with only two sprays on the wrist. Definitely might want to go easy on the trigger here.
I am definitely of the opinion this is better for the cooler weather so winter, early spring, and fall. I think the summers heat would make this almost obscenely strong.
