Darkness is insidious.
It trickles in unaware,
a little here a bit there.
In short time it will own us.
You don’t notice when the cup
is full until it spills forth
and all your works spring the trap
alluringly baited with
foolish notions of heartfelt
joy. Lies for the wound to salt!
