Today has been quite a relaxing day. The spring weather is cool but warming, the breeze wistfully blowing as if the world was breathing, in and out, in and out. So relaxing.
Once you get to a certain level of peace in your day it is much easier to read a great author, a wordy author who has an incredible talent to tell stories.
I have only read one book of his up till this day which was The Magic Mountain. Now that was an incredible book! If you haven’t read it yet you absolutely have to go out and get it.
Today I reached for Death in Venice and other tales that has been sitting on my shelf for some time now, beckoning me to sample its wares. Up to now I have held off, for whatever reason I know not, but now upon reading just the first story I feel that it was meant to be that I waited until this moment to experience his words once again.
Such a fine author, I can’t wait to continue my journey with his works, this one and the others I have collected upon my shelves over the years.
Anybody else read anything by him? What do you think of his writing? Let me know in the comments. Let’s have ourselves a conversation about it.
